Team Roles and Permissions
Simple Explanation of Permissions and Access Control
Permissions in Menuraq are like giving employees different keys to your business:
- Some keys open specific areas (like the kitchen)
- Some keys let you see financial records (like the cash register)
- Some keys let you hire and fire staff (like the owner's access card)
Each team member gets a set of keys based on their job requirements. This keeps everything secure while making sure everyone can do their job.
Who Can Do What in the System
Owners have full access:
- View and edit everything in your business
- Add and remove team members
- Change billing settings and plans
- Delete the business (use with caution!)
- View all activity logs
Managers have operational access:
- Handle daily orders and customers
- Add and manage staff members
- View business performance
- Process payments and refunds
- Manage menus and inventory
Staff have task-based access:
- Do their specific job functions only
- Handle customers at their station
- View orders assigned to them
- Access inventory they need to stock

Common Scenarios
Scenario 1: New Restaurant Opening
- Owner: You open the restaurant
- Manager: Oversees everything daily
- Staff: Cooks, servers, cashiers get specific task access
Scenario 2: Multiple Locations
- Each location gets its own team setup
- Each location can have its own owners and managers
- Staff only see their location's customers
Scenario 3: Growing Business
- Start with just you and one manager
- Add staff as needed
- Change roles as responsibilities grow
Why This Matters
- Security: Not everyone needs to see financial data
- Focus: Employees stay focused on their jobs
- Accountability: You can track who did what
- Scalability: Easy to add more team members
Quick Check: After setting up team members, ask yourself:
- Can they do their job?
- Can they access what they need?
- Can they NOT access what they shouldn't?
If the answer is "yes" to all three, your permissions are set up correctly!
