POS Setup Wizard
The POS Setup Wizard guides you through configuring a new branch's POS settings in a step-by-step flow.

Overview
The wizard covers five steps to get your branch ready for POS operations:
- Restaurant Profile , Basic information
- Table Setup , Floor layout configuration
- Counter Setup , Counter ordering options
- Payments , Payment method configuration
- Review , Summary and confirmation
Step 1: Restaurant Profile
Configure the basic profile of your restaurant.
Fields
| Field | Description |
| Restaurant Type | Select from: Full Service, Quick Service, Cafe, Bar/Lounge, Bakery/Dessert, Food Stall, Food Hall Vendor, Fine Dining |
| Currency | Your local currency (e.g. GHS, USD, NGN) |
| Timezone | Your local timezone |
| Seating Capacity | Approximate number of seats |
Restaurant Type Descriptions
Each type comes with recommended defaults:
- Full Service: Tables with waitstaff, multi-course
- Quick Service: Counter ordering, fast turnover
- Cafe: Mix of counter and table service
- Bar / Lounge: Bar service, tabs
- Bakery / Dessert: Display case, grab-and-go
- Food Stall: Simple counter, no tables
- Food Hall Vendor: Shared space, QR ordering
- Fine Dining: Course management, premium service
Step 2: Table Setup
Define your floor layout.
Has Tables?
Toggle whether your restaurant has tables:
- Yes: Enable dine-in service with table management
- No: Counter-only service (pickup/takeout)
Zones (If Tables Enabled)
Define service zones for your floor plan:

| Name | Zone label (e.g. "Main Hall", "Patio", "VIP") |
| Table Count | Number of tables in this zone |
You can add multiple zones to organize your floor.
Step 3: Counter Setup
Configure counter ordering behavior.
Settings
| Setting | Description |
| Counter Ordering | Enable/disable counter ordering |
| QR Display | Show QR code for customer self-ordering |
| Require Entry Code | Customers must enter a code for pickup |
| Require Guest Name | Customers must provide their name |
Step 4: Payments
Configure which payment methods you accept and default settings.
Payment Methods
Enable one or more payment methods:
- Mobile Money , MTN, Vodafone, AirtelTigo
- Card , Paystack or terminal
- Bank Transfer , Virtual account
- Cash , Physical currency
- External Payment Link , Send payment link
Additional Settings

Guest Communication
Optional contact details:
- Phone number (for guest inquiries)
- WhatsApp number
- Website URL
- Google Maps URL
- Reservation URL
- Payment URL
Step 5: Review
Review all your settings before confirming.
Summary Display
The review step shows a comprehensive summary of all configurations:
- Restaurant Profile: Type, currency, timezone, capacity
- Table Setup: Zones and table counts (or counter-only)
- Counter Setup: Ordering, QR, entry codes
- Payments: Enabled methods, tax, service charge, contact details
Confirmation
- Click Complete Setup to save all configurations.
- Setup can be revisited later via POS settings.
- After setup, you'll be redirected to the appropriate POS workspace.
Post-Setup
After completing the wizard, you can further customize:
- Floor Plan: Use the FloorMapEditor to arrange tables visually
- KDS Settings: Configure kitchen display preferences
- Printers: Add and configure receipt/kitchen printers
- Stations: Define kitchen stations for routing
- Workstations: Assign staff to lanes
All settings are accessible from POS > Settings.
